For poker enthusiasts, the online game provides a casual avenue for quick, online play and a possible gateway into high-stakes main events like the World Series of Poker.
For those who may not have access to the nearest casino or poker rooms, online poker tournaments also offer serious competition without leaving your living room or home office.
Online poker site Americas Cardroom recently launched its Supersized Sunday event — a one-day-only online poker event featuring 26 tournaments with guarantees boosted to almost $4 million. The event is open to online poker players of all levels, with buy-ins ranging from $11 to $1,050.
The highlights of the Sunday schedule included the $750,000 GTD Supersized Sunday High Roller, $400,000 GTD Supersized Sunday Moneymaker, and the $250,000 GTD Supersized Sunday Special, offering players multiple chances to win big.
The poker variants ranged from No-Limit Hold’em to Progressive Knockouts, Pot-Limit Omaha, and more, so there’s something for everyone.
ACR Pro and 2003 WSOP Champion Chris Moneymaker described the event as a great way “to sharpen your game” leading up to Americas Cardroom’s upcoming Dual Venom tourney events.
The Supersized Sunday, as you can see, is only one of Americas Cardroom’s many promotions and events catering to online poker players. Players highly anticipate these events and promotions. Fortunately, Chromebook users can easily join in on the online poker fun.

The online poker boom of the 2000s is associated with the legendary Chris Moneymaker story. Having qualified for the WSOP Main Event off a $86 buy-in online tournament, Moneymaker went on to make history, taking home the $2.5 million first prize.
After being inducted into the Poker Hall of Fame in 2019, Moneymaker signed with leading US poker site Americas Cardroom, where he joined the site’s ACR Team Pro. Together, Moneymaker and Americas Cardroom have committed to finding “the next Moneymaker” through the site’s many online tournaments and promotions.
To add to the Supersized Sunday event mentioned above, Americas Cardroom has also introduced Must-Play Mondays — a new schedule featuring added events and boosted guarantees. The schedule offers a lineup of exciting tournaments for a wide range of buy-in levels to cater to micro-stakes enthusiasts and high-stakes ballers alike.
Playing Americas Cardroom on your Chromebook
As mentioned above, Americas Cardroom is accessible for Chromebook players. However, the site mentions that Chromebook users will be limited to its mobile gaming offerings. This means that players can access the site’s three casinos and sportsbook or play Jackpot Poker.
Other mobile offerings from the site include Blitz Poker, Cyclones, and other casino games like Live Dealer Blackjack.
Still, Americas Cardroom is one of the few online poker sites that have intuitive and sleek mobile poker clients, making it a great online poker option for Chromebook players. Using the Chrome OS, players can securely and safely access Americas Cardroom’s Android app, which is available for download from the site.
Players may have limited access to Americas Cardroom’s range of tournaments on the Android client, but tournaments and cash games for some poker variants, including Hold’em, Stud, and Omaha, are still available.
Chromebook tips for playing ACR Poker
It’s important to note that Chrome OS isn’t natively designed to handle Android app installations from external APKs like Americas Cardroom’s. As such, you’ll have to enable Developer Mode and set up your ADB (Android Debug Bridge). Afterward, you’ll be able to download and install the Americas Cardroom APK file just like other apps from the official Play Store.
Of course, as with other forms of online gaming, you’ll need to ensure your Chromebook is up to speed — literally. Ensuring your Chromebook has optimal Internet speeds helps ensure you won’t lag out or stutter during poker games.
Our previous post on this topic highlights how you can use your Google Fiber account or the Google Fiber app to run a speed evaluation to ensure your Chromebook isn’t plagued by connectivity problems that may cost you at poker tables.
Chromebooks also sometimes have stricter power-saving features, which may affect your Wi-Fi performance. Testing out different networks and adjusting your power settings can help speed up your Chromebook’s Internet.
