Memorial Day Weekend Chromebook sales for every budget and type of user

Here in the US we’re in the three day holiday weekend and while most folks are relaxing, vacationing or spending time with friends and family, a few minutes on online shopping can save you a bunch on a new Chromebook.

To make it a little easier and quicker (so you can get back to the holiday!), I’ve rounded up a bunch of good deals. I’ve also grouped them by budget and use-case categories to make it even faster.

These are grouped in order by what I’d consider the best bang for the buck based on capabilities and age of each model.

Keep in mind that there’s no “best” device for everyone, so consider your own requirements and budget.

Entry level under $275

Mid-range daily drivers between $275 and $399

Power users with $400 or more to spend

  1. The chromebook shown all look very workable ;I just would like to see a physically heavier product featuring more metalic-alloy-based materials. Thank you for the courtesy. Don Colin castell.

        1. The Samsung devices are getting a little long in the tooth, although they make a good device for sure.

  2. Thanks for the Post! Just checked the Lenovo C630 and the $689 priced model is actually 128GB RAM.

Also, the HP Chromebook X360 14 is a really good deal at $399. I picked it up when it was first released at $459 and this is the lowest I have seen it priced since then.

    1. Thanks for catching that inadvertant error on the memory; I just corrected the post. Yup, this is the lowest I’ve seen the X360 and it’s a steal at that price IMO. Cheers!

      1. Would that “$399 HP Chromebook X630 14 ” be good for linux containers? It does seem to have a good amount of RAM and storage for a Chromebook. And at that price, is tempting.

        1. It’s about the minimum I would want if I planned to use the Linux container daily for a few apps. But yes, it should handle Linux well considering it’s a U-series CPU paired with 8 GB of memory. And I have a typo, it’s the X360. ?

  3. If you look at the actual offerings in your links, NONE of the Entry Level (under $275) machines actually have touchscreens.

    1. Yup, this is what I get for making lists while recording a podcast at the same time. 🙁 Thanks for pointing it out Kurt – I just updated the post. Cheers!

    1. Yup, inadvertent error on my part; the post is now corrected. Cheers!
