If I hadn’t just built a Windows gaming PC last summer, I’d consider this new Asus Fanless Chromebox that was quietly announced at CES 2021. A locked VESA mount solution and 10th-gen Intel chips are in every configuration.
Don’t expect many visual changes on the Samsung Galaxy Chromebook2. In fact you might mistake it for the current model based on this leaked image. Look closer though and you can see some important design differences.
Asus will start to sell its Chromebox 4 with 10th-gen Intel processors and WiFi 6 next month. The base model is $289 for a Celeron; pricing goes up from there based on choice of CPU, memory and storage options, which include faster SSD this time around.
If you’ve held out for a Samsung Galaxy Chromebook, you can find it discounted by $100 today, bringing the price to $899. Just keep in mind that on Black Friday, it will be discounted by $200.
Ah, the lowly Chromebox. It gets no respect! Maybe with the HP Chromebox G3 it will thanks to 10th-gen Intel chips and support for dual 4K displays starting at $254.
Following up on last year’s Latitude Chromebooks for work, the new Dell Latitude 7410 Enterprise Chromebook is available with LTE, fast NVMe storage and up to 21 hours of battery life. Might this, along with Windows 10 in a VM sway some business customers to Chromebook?
Did you miss the 20% off sale on the Samsung Galaxy Chromebook with 4K AMOLED display last month? Looks like you get a second chance: This 10th-gen Core i5 convertible Chromebook is on sale for $799 again.
Samsung’s Galaxy Chromebook was the first Project Athena device running Chrome OS, coming with a gorgeous 4K OLED display. At $999 it’s still a tough sell due to battery life but this $200 discount might help to overlook that.
In February, the Samsung Galaxy Chromebook briefly showed an April 6 release date, which was pulled. Looks like it’s back and this anticipated Chromebook arrives next week.
After spending 30 minutes with the Samsung Galaxy Chromebook, I think most who part with $999 for it will be happy. Battery life is lower than I thought but the display, design and performance may make up for that.
