HP Chromebook x2 11 with Qualcomm Snapdragon 7c inside

HP Chromebook x2 11 drops to lowest price yet of $249

Following a recent all-time low price drop of $379 for the Lenovo Duet 5 Chromebook, HP’s small Chrome OS tablet is doing the same. You’ll have to act today though. This is a one-day sale for the HP Chromebook x2 11 at its lowest price yet of $249.

I never thought this Chrome OS tablet was a good value at its full MSRP. It’s not until you start seeing discounts that drop the price into the $300 to $400 price range to make that happen. So at $249, it clearly meets the mark, and then some.

You’re getting a capable slate with an excellent display and entry-level performance. Helping that performance with this configuration is the 8 GB of memory. Just keep in mind that you’re limited to 64 GB of storage. You can’t boost that with a microSD card on the HP Chromebook x2 11. You get 64 GB of local storage but you can expand that with a microSD card.

Inside is the first-generation Qualcomm Snapdragon 7c processor, which while not the quickest, handles most everyday tasks. Think of the experience like an Intel Pentium-powered Chromebook and set your expectations accordingly.

There are a pair of USB-C ports, both on the left side, and that’s about it. But you do have a fingerprint sensor, which is handy for logging in to Chrome OS. And this package includes the detachable kickstand, keyboard with trackpad, and HP’s digital pen.

Keep the keyboard on a flat surface and you’ll be happy although a little cramped. Use it on your lap and you’ll likely have phantom mouse clicks from resting your palms on it. Again, just keep your expectations in check and think about how and where you’ll use the HP Chromebook x2 11.

I would consider this portable slate to be ideal as a secondary device or one dedicated to lazy browsing and online content consumption. In fact, it’s ideal for watching video thanks to the sharp 2160 x 1440 resolution touch screen. The display brightness is rated at 400 nits as well, so it’s plenty bright in nearly every situation.

Again, this HP Chromebook x2 11 is a great value at $249. Buy it at this price if you plan to use this Chrome OS tablet as I’ve suggested above, or get it for a student.

  1. Thanks for this post I just bought one two weeks ago and I love it as a replacement for my Android tablet.

  2. I really wish someone made a small Chrome tablet. I really miss my old Nexus 7 LTE device. I used it as my phone until 2019. It was big enough to be really useful when away from my laptop and portable enough to carry wherever I went. An eight inch-er would be about right. Desktop browser, Android apps and Linux too; eight years of upgrades; portable. Detachables feel like they don’t know what foot to stand on. Too big, in my opinion, to be a useful tablet, and with the keyboard they don’t seem suitable for much impromptu work.

  3. What’s the end-of-updates on this model? The Chromebook x2 ends June 2024. No bueno. The Chromebook x2 11c ends June 2029. Which one is the one you wrote about? If it’s the x2 11c that’s a heckuva good deal! Thanks!

    1. Chrome OS software support is through June 2029 on this model. The original Chromebook x2 is an Intel-powered unit that only has about two years of Chrome OS updates left.

  4. I bought this tablet at the $250 price and I really like it. Right now, it’s $300 but still a great deal. The sound is just ok and I would recommend either a bluetooth speaker or a USBc to 3.5mm adapter.
