Nvidia booked $75.2 billion in data center revenue in the quarter ended April 26, 2026, up 92% year over year. AI hardware in 2026 splits across three chokepoints: the accelerator, the memory stacked beside it, and the rack it ships in. Each layer has a different leader. This post covers the verified revenue, share and shipment figures behind all three.
Key AI Hardware Market Share Numbers
Nvidia AI Hardware Market Share By Data Center Revenue
Nvidia closed fiscal 2026 on January 25, 2026 with $193.7 billion in data center revenue, up 68%, against total company revenue of $215.9 billion.
The following quarter added $75.2 billion on its own. Nvidia reported that as a 92% year-over-year gain and a 21% sequential one.
| Quarter (period end) | Data center revenue | Total revenue | Year-over-year change |
|---|---|---|---|
| Q2 FY2026 (Jul 27, 2025) | $41.1B | $46.7B | +56% |
| Q3 FY2026 (Oct 26, 2025) | $51.2B | $57.0B | +66% |

Customer mix is flatter than the headline suggests. Nvidia said hyperscale buyers accounted for roughly 50% of data center revenue in Q1 FY2027, with the rest coming from AI clouds, industrial, enterprise and sovereign customers.
Networking is the faster-moving half. Data center networking revenue reached $14.8 billion, up 199%, while compute revenue rose 77% to $60.4 billion. Nvidia guided Q2 FY2027 revenue to $91.0 billion and excluded China data center compute from that outlook.
Merchant Chip Vendors: Nvidia, AMD And Intel
All three report data center revenue on different fiscal calendars, so these are separate company results rather than shares of one measured market.
AMD’s data center segment grew faster than Nvidia’s in percentage terms last quarter. The absolute revenue gap did not close.
| Vendor | Latest reported quarter | Data center revenue | Year-over-year change |
|---|---|---|---|
| Nvidia | Q1 FY2027 (ended Apr 26, 2026) | $75.2B | +92% |

AMD’s data center segment reached $6,718 million in Q2 2026 and made up 58% of total company revenue. Intel’s Data Center and AI unit posted $6.3 billion with a $2.5 billion operating profit, and Intel said it could not meet all customer demand in the segment.
Custom silicon sits outside all three lines. TrendForce forecast in January 2026 that GPUs would account for 69.7% of 2026 AI server shipments and ASIC-based systems for 27.8%, the highest ASIC share since 2023; in April 2026 it trimmed that ASIC figure to around 27%.
AI Hardware Market Share By Server Vendor
Branded server makers took share back from the ODMs that build directly for hyperscalers. ODM Direct revenue grew just 2.1% while the total market rose 30.4%, cutting ODM share from 64.1% to 50.2% in four quarters.
| Company | 1Q26 revenue | 1Q26 share | 1Q25 share | Growth |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Dell Technologies | $20,280.8M | 16.5% | 6.3% | +244.1% |
| Super Micro | $9,331.0M | 7.6% | 4.3% | +128.9% |
| Lenovo | $5,621.8M | 4.6% | 4.4% | +36.5% |

GPU-accelerated servers generated $68.9 billion, or 56.2% of all server revenue, growing 24.8%. Systems using other accelerators — FPGAs and ASICs in IDC’s taxonomy — jumped 122.1% to $17.7 billion.
The United States produced $79.6 billion, 64.9% of global server revenue. IDC research director Juan Seminara said supply, not demand, is the ceiling on near-term growth. The electricity those racks pull sits in the AI energy consumption statistics.
HBM Memory Share: SK hynix, Samsung And Micron
SK hynix holds 58% of HBM revenue but only 29% of DRAM revenue. Samsung has the inverse position, leading commodity DRAM at 38% while sitting third in HBM at 21%.
| Supplier | Q1 2025 | Q2 2025 | Q3 2025 | Q4 2025 | Q1 2026 |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| SK hynix | 69% | 64% | 56% | 57% | 58% |
| Samsung | 13% | 15% | 23% | 22% | 21% |
| Micron | 18% | 21% | 21% | 21% | 21% |
Source: Counterpoint Research, global HBM market share by revenue, Q1 2025 to Q1 2026 (published June 8, 2026)
SK hynix lost 11 points of HBM revenue share in a year. Counterpoint notes most HBM revenue still comes from HBM3E, with HBM4 shipments expected to show up in the second half of 2026.
Pricing explains why memory now sets the cost floor for every other layer. Counterpoint reported the DRAM market grew 80% quarter over quarter and 260% year over year in Q1 2026.
AI PC Share Of Worldwide Shipments In 2026
Gartner forecasts AI PCs at 143.1 million units in 2026, or 54.7% of total PC shipments. That is the first year the category passes half the market on Gartner’s numbers.
| Year | AI PC units | Share of total PC market | Share of laptop market |
|---|---|---|---|
| 2024 | 38.1 million | 15.6% | 19.4% |
| 2025 | 77.8 million | 31.0% | 35.7% |
| 2026 | 143.1 million | 54.7% | 58.7% |
Source: Gartner, Worldwide AI PC Share and Shipments 2024-2026 (August 2025)
The forecast predates the current memory squeeze. IDC counted 68.2 million PC shipments in Q2 2026, down 4.9% year over year, and attributed the decline to memory costs.
ChromeOS trails on the same measure. NPU-equipped machines were 7% of Chromebook shipments in 2025 per the Chromebook Plus adoption data, and which processors win those sockets is broken down in the Chromebook chipset share figures.
Whether that silicon gets used is a separate question, tracked in the ChromeOS feature adoption rates.
What Moves AI Hardware Market Share In 2026
TrendForce estimates the combined 2026 capital expenditure of the nine largest cloud providers will exceed $886.7 billion, up roughly 90% year over year, with the five North American hyperscalers accounting for nearly 90% of it.
On that basis TrendForce raised its 2026 AI server shipment growth forecast from 28% to nearly 31% in August 2026. It puts combined 2027 capex for the same nine firms at about $1.3 trillion.

Source: Broadcom Q1 and Q2 fiscal 2026 financial results (March 4 and June 3, 2026)
Broadcom reported more than $30 billion in AI semiconductor bookings during a quarter in which it shipped $10.8 billion, and said demand visibility now extends into fiscal 2028.
Foundry capacity is the constraint under all of it. TSMC reported $40.20 billion in Q2 2026 revenue, up 33.7% in US dollars at a 67.7% gross margin, with 7nm and below making up 77% of wafer revenue. Cloud-side demand patterns appear in the cloud AI service usage data.
The pattern across every layer is the same. Nvidia’s lead in merchant accelerators held through Q1 FY2027, while server OEMs, HBM suppliers and DRAM vendors all changed position inside twelve months. Consumer-side AI hardware uptake is tracked in the Chromebook AI tools adoption statistics.
